1520 North Capitol Street, Washington, DC

Retail · Restaurant · MULTIFAMILY

Flywheel Development and Urban Green were selected as the winning response under a solicitation issued by DC's Deputy Mayor's Office for Planning and Economic Development. Cycle House will be the first mixed-use net zero energy building in DC. The project takes its name from the building’s bicycle amenities, which are designed to maximize the ease of cycling for building residents, as the site cannot easily accommodate automobile parking. The building includes a bike elevator accessible from the rear lobby which will allow residents to “bike” seamlessly from their front door to the street level.

The building program includes 15 units of affordable rental units above a restaurant from Brookland-based restaurateur Jaime Vargas.
